How to turn off traction control 2005 mustang

x2 Apr 22, 2013 · A week later the button light for off came to life by itself and displayed the off light and I could feel the loss of traction. I was not able to turn traction control on by pressing the button or turning the car off then on again. I sent it over to my mechanic again and he got traction control on but he is not sure what is wrong with the button. Someone once told me that I should turn off traction control when I run my car ... I have not turned it off once, frankly the car still comes out from under me sometimes still with it on. This car (like many others on here have and do say) is a learning experience. Because the SI I used to have, when pressing the button to turn off traction control, it wouldn't be truly off, there will be a little traction, so you would have to do the brake and release on and off hold sequence to truly do so. I can get it all sorts of out of control and have never had the traction control kick back on. Once the ignition cycles, the car defaults back to having the traction control back on.
